Tunis, Tunisia, July 28, 2019- Tunisia Men’s Volleyball team captured the Men’s African club championship’s title following their thrilling victory over struggling Cameroon 3-2 (23-25, 25-20, 26-24. 21-25, 15-13) in the competition final in Tunis, Tunisia on Sunday.
This is the tenth title for the winners in the history of the competition against 8 for Egypt, 2 for Algeria and Cameron.
Algeria won the bronze medal after they beat Egypt 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-20). Morocco finished fifth after they beat Congo 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 20-25, 25-18, 15-9)
Cameroon stun Egypt as Tunisia upset Algeria at Men’s African Nations
Tunis, Tunisia, July 23, 2019- Hosts Tunisia became the first team to qualify to the semifinal of the 2019 Men’s African Nations Championship after they beat their North African Neighbours Algeria 3-0 (25-20- 25-20- 25-19) on Day 3 of the competition in Tunis, Tunisia on Tuesday.
Tunisia marked their third victory in 3 matches in Pool A to book the first ticket to semis. Chad played their best ever match to beat Botswana 3-2 (22-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-18, 15-8). This was Chad’s second win in their competition history.
In Pool B Cameroon surprised Egypt in straight sets (25-18, 25-13, 25-19) to capture their second win in 2 matches, While Egypt dropped to 2-1. Morocco overwhelm Burundi 3-1 (25-27, 25-11, 25-11, 25-12) to improve to 1-2.
Tunisia and Egypt through to second win at Men’s African Nations
Tunis, Tunisia, July 22, 2019- Heavy favourites Egypt and Tunisia went through to their second victories on Day 2 of the 2019 Men’s African Nations Championship held in Tunis, Tunisia on Monday after they beat Botswana and Burundi respectively to lead their corresponding pools.
In Pool A, Tunisia crashed Botswana 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-6) to improve their win- loss ratio to 2-0 to lead the pool with 6 points. Algeria begin their campaign with a valuable victory over DR Congo 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-19) to start with 1-0, while the losers dropped to 1-1 in 2 matches.
In Pool B, Egypt overcame emerging Burundi 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-13) to progress to 2-0, while Burundi started with 0-1. Up and coming Congo Brazzaville surprised Morocco 3-1 (23-25, 27-25, 25-20, 30-28) after they lost the first set. The winners improved to 1-1, while Morocco dropped to 0-2.
