 Costa do Sol Arena ready to receive the biggest African Beach Volleyball competition

 
The beach volleyball arena in Maputo will welcome the biggest beach volleyball tournament in African history
 

Maputo, Mozambique, September 5, 2011- The Costa do sol Arena is getting ready for the biggest ever African beach volleyball competition as it will welcome 30 teams in both genders at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique on September 11.

CAVB president Dr Amr Elwani made an inspection visit to the venue accompanied by CAVB technical director Howyda Mondy and CAVB beach commission member Gershon Rorich where they checked all the facilities to host the big event.

Two center courts will host the men’s and women’s competition where 15 teams from each will participate in a double elimination tournamen.

The qualified teams are the champions and runner up of each of the seven continental zones as well as organizers Mozambique.

“I hope to see a successful competition here to push the sport more after the great start at the CAVB Continental cup last year,” the CAVB president said. “I’m happy to see these facilities at Costa do Sol Arena and I think it will be a great edition at the beach Volleyball level in Africa before the second round of the Continental Cup.”
